CMSI Visit

On 16th November we had a visit from Linda Abwa, who is on the staff of CMSI. She based her sermon on John4:4-30, in which Jesus has an encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well. Linda focused on the transformation which Jesus brought to the woman’s life, and linked this with the transformation we see today in the lives of the people of Olo. Our two parishes have enabled the diocese of Olo to purchase a mill for grinding flour. This is the job of the women who had to make the dangerous journey to grind flour in another part of the diocese. Now they can do so locally and also make a little bit of money by selling some of the flour. Bishop Tandema, who spent a few days in our parishes about 8 years ago, is immensely grateful to Stephen and the people who helped raise the money to buy the mill. CMSI has launched another project to dig bore holes to give the people of Olo access to safe drinking water. One pump is in operation, saving families the arduous long walk to get clean water. Bishop Tandema, with the help of engineers, has located a new site in the village of Rasolo, where a second bore hole is being dug. CMSI is funding these bore holes with financial help from our two parishes. Thank you to all who support CMSI’s projects in Olo diocese.
