Leaders of Nations

Many times, we imagine that actions go unnoticed by Almighty God, and that he pays no regard to the holiness of individuals or of nations.

We are mistaken if we believe this.

Yes, there are times when we see very little evidence of God’s judgment in this life, but we cannot see what is going on out of sight, nor know the specific timing or intentions of God to punish the evil doer.

No nation has survived without periods of setback, revolution, insurrection, unplanned changes of regime, and some of these reflect the appaling behaviour of those in power. This may be one way God exercises judgment.

Our responsibility, under the Lordship of Christ, is this

Micah 6:8 (NIV (UK 2011)):

8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

Let us pray that our leaders in state and church, in families and businesses, submit to God’s rule, and so bring his blessing to all of us.
