Golf Society Captain’s Day
Golf Society Captain’s day in June.
The St Ignatius Captain’s day was held at Shandon Golf Club on the 15th June. Andrew Glass, our Captain, was very pleased to have 23 members and visitors playing. The weather was really good with sunshine the whole afternoon.
The Captain provided much need bottles of water due to the heat. The hot dry spell also meant that the course played much shorter than normal and the scores reflected that. We had our usual nearest the pin competition and also a nearest the pin in two shots at the ninth hole.
The members always look forward to these challenges with the hope that they might win a sleeve of golf balls. Following the golf, we enjoyed a nice meal together with the usual craic and banter.
The overall winner was Ivor Johnston (Killaney member) with 42 points.
There are still 4 outings to go this year so if anyone is interested, they will be made very welcome to join us for golf and friendship.
