Trees Removed
Spot the difference: a remarkable change to the outlook from the rectory as of today Friday 30 July 2021
Work being undertaken currently, to widen the road and move and replace under-ground cabling and pipework, threatened to reduce the safety of the large trees to an unnacceptable level.
It is sad to see them go.
Sad that they must go indeed. For a tree is not just a tree, a single entity, but a home to many invertebrates, a nest sight for birds and possibly even squirrels. They clean the air of global warming carbon dioxide and release beneficial water and oxygen back into the atmosphere. Yes they can be hazardous if too big and too close to our habitation but they are a resource we need to carefully and effectively manage.
